Coupé
A distinctive silhouette, characterised by overlapping rounded volumes with a clear 60s and 70s influence, brings the Coupé seating system by Giampiero Tagliaferri to life.
The designer describes the project as a seating experience that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking: we have reinterpreted classic forms through a contemporary lens, finding a balance between vintage charm and modern functionality. The reference to the aesthetics of 20th-century modernism is encapsulated in the soft forms, and in the precious couture-inspired details, such as the longitudinal stitching, intentionally tone-on-tone, featured in the leather version: an elegant graphic element, a mark of Minottis refined craftsmanship, which runs along the entire volume, starting from the headrest, touching on the buttons on the backrest, and continuing across the seat.
The enveloping shapes and ergonomic sinuosity of Coupé, delivered by the inclined seat specifically designed to ensure maximum comfort, intersect with the strong horizontality of the padded headrest and lumbar cushion elements, creating an engaging visual dynamism that culminates in the view of the armrest, highlighting the profile of the sofa.
At the heart of this project lies a deep respect for the past, an homage to an era when sofas embraced the body with inclined seating, offering both aesthetic grace and unparalleled comfort, confirms Tagliaferri. Distinguished by a broad selection of options, the system can be used to create infinite flexible layouts, allowing for both the combination of seating elements and the use of individual pieces independently. Among them, a standout is the couch, with its generous proportions and unique double inclination. With its highly distinctive design, this system features a curved aluminium frame, either varnished or brushed polished, on the front and back of the upholstered base, not only protecting the upholstery, but also enhancing the entire silhouette.
